Eating Out-Medan Indonesia

I spent my last Labour Day's holiday in Medan, Sumatera Indonesia with my friends. It was a short trip out country just to travel and visit a new place which we have not visited before. Medan city itself is typical of other Indonesian cities, crowded, packed, but nonetheless cleaner than Jakarta. Will blog about the interesting places that we have visited there in another post as herein i will blog about the foods that ive tasted during my stay there.

i) Ayam Penyet-Medan Mall

sorry as i missed out on the name of this restaurant but it is located at the upper floor of the shopping mall and specializing in this famous Indonesian dish called "Ayam Penyet". Ayam Penyet is basically a dish consisting of fried chicken which was smashed to make its bone soft and served with condiments of fresh vegetables and fried tempeh (soybean cake) and served with "sambal" (chilli dip) and white rice. This dish was really tasty as the chicken was properly marinated to give its spicy and fragrant taste and the fresh ingredients used in this dish really complimented each other giving it delectable taste.

ii) Miramar Restaurant

We had a wonderful dinner at this restaurant. It is quite an upscale eatery by local standard but the foods here are reasonably priced as far as we are concerned. Very easy to locate this restaurant as it is within walking distance from Hermes Palace Hotel, along Jalan Pemuda.

we ordered Sizzling Seafood platter.....

Beef & Kailan in Soysauce........

Fried Grouper in Sweet Soysauce

view of the restaurant. It is an air-conditioned venue with 2 dining levels.
