Hotel Review-Chatrium Residence Bangkok "My Oasis in Bangkok"

...away from the norm..that was the "theme" of my latest trip to Bangkok. After sampling Thai Airways International's flight for the first time, i complimented this "firsts" pattern by staying at a hotel which ive never stayed before which is situated at a location not common to me.

Chatrium Residences-Bangkok is located in Sathon, an area which is not really central to the hustle and bustle of Bangkok city yet well connected and reachable to the city centre with abundance of transportation available around it.This 4-stars establishment is suitable for those whose looking for a quite and peaceful environment, with 5-stars services at an affordable price. My booking was done via Agoda.com for a Studio Room at the rate of RM 170++ per-night. For me it's really worth the price as the room is spacious, with well equipped kitchenette and inclusive of breakfast.

Let me take you on the tour of the room...as we entered the room we'll have the partial view of the kitchenette on your left and the edge of the bed on your right...........

...and on your left is the bathroom...

lets go to the bathroom first shall we........

the bathroom was well well equipped with bath-tub and amenities and towelettes. There's also a basket for you to put in your used laundry/towels under the sink.

now let's see how's the kitchen area looks like........

the kitchen area is nicely situated at the left corner of the room whereby the area's flooring is separated by wood flooring from the main carpeted area of the room. There's also a bar table with 2 high stools acted as divider between the two areas. You will find a 2 doors fridge, a microwave, water heater, toaster and electric stove here. Cooking and other kitchen utensils were nicely stocked and placed in the cupboard. Eating ware such as cups/saucers/plates were placed in an open cupboard besides the fridge. There's also a door which leads out to a small balcony for you to take some fresh air/let the same into the room after a cooking session.

as we have viewed the kitchen..lets take a look at the general view of the main/sleeping area of the room.

writing table with booklets of services offered by the hotel such as room service menu and spa...

entertainment area with tv, mini-hifi which can play dvd as well......

the bed is big and as per my liking, have sufficient pillows....

the whole room view...
and views outside the window........

lets go out from the room and wonder around the public area of the hotel..shall we?

Lobby area....take note that this is the temporary lobby area as the hotel is currently undergoing refurbishment process...

the pool area....this is located at the 4th Floor where you may find the gym, a convenient store, playroom and restaurant and bar...

after a wonderful sleep it's time for breakfast..let's see what's being served for breakfast here....

the above colourful yogurt were so enticing that we tend to take some with us to our room..but upon noticing this the restaurant manager sternly reminded us that those were only for eating in...we just ignored him and walk away...dont tell me that this hotel is so calculative with these yogurts which can be bought from the convenient store??

regardless of the above incident, all in all it was a pleasant stay at this hotel and i will surely make a return visit. Sometimes i just feel the need to have some calmness after those walk around the loud and crowded areas of Bangkok. For the said reason, this hotel fit nicely for that purpose.-Kay 2011.
